Potton Hall

AoB’s association with Potton Hall started when they launched their concert series and needed to take their brand online. Like similar owner managed businesses Jeremy & Helen have focussed conscientiously over the past 7 years on their service provision: they’ve established an awe inspiring reputation as a leading classical music venue attracting artists such as Vladimir Ashkenazy. Potton Hall knew what they had to do, but facing financial pressures placed on them by a changing classical music recording industry,  had no budget to hire the professionals they thought they needed to. Worse still, they couldn’t find the time to manage a project learning curve that felt steep, unaffordable and risky.

Admittedly, AoB is eternally grateful to the friendly and very talented team at Condiment who supported Potton Hall with a constrained amount of pro bono design work, but all the other tools we used were free: opensource tools like WordPress, Amiando, Google Apps and MailChimp. We’re now working on shaving off finance costs: collecting receivables more efficiently and automating back office processes. We’re midst implementing Xero – a web-based accounting package that will reduce the administration burden departing from a manual invoice book,word-processor generated invoices and perpetual paperwork involved in collecting the debtors balances.
